Think Safety

“Think Safety – It’s No Accident” is Council’s corporate workplace safety slogan and was implemented throughout our workforce in early 2005.   A competition was organised by Council to enable staff to submit their ideas for a safety slogan and following a workplace vote, Council formally adopted “Think Safety – It’s No Accident”. 

To increase awareness of the “Think Safety” message, Council have included the slogan on all staff circulars, correspondence and newsletters. 

Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Graeme Kanofski fully supports safety in the workplace and said “I believe that the slogan is a very appropriate slogan for our workplace, but unless it becomes part of the organisational culture it means very little.  The law in this State places a legal obligation on each of us in respect to safety, therefore the slogan will encourage employees to do something about unsafe work practices.”

Council encourages all work groups to openly discuss safety issues, concerns and potential improvements through different forums because each of these concerns and suggestions are all taken very seriously by the Council.
